The central-north area starts in the Mediterranean province of Córdoba. It has traditional rhythms such as Chacarera, Gato, Escondido, which are interpreted either by soloists, duets or groups. They play the guitar, legüero drum – a percussions instrument from Santiago del Estero – and the violin, among other instruments

Towards the north the Zamba and the Baguala. In Jujuy – the Quebrada de Humahuaca, the Puna in the west and the high bolivian plateau – there is a stram of musical affection with dances such as Carnavalito, Bailecito and others.

There are other folklore instruments such as: caja, quena, pincullo, anata and erke.
